"Kohoku means 'north of river' This is because our territory is
mainly located north of the Sumida river in the Adachi Ward. However,
there is no such name of town or area on any map of the Adachi area. To be
precise, Kohoku consists of 2 Chinese Characters: KO meaning 'River' and HOKU
meaning 'north.'"
