Leadership Development Rotary is made up of a group of leaders; serving in Rotary is like a college education in leadership. 5. Citizenship in the Community Rotary has the most active citizens in the community. Membership makes you a more active community member. 6. On-Going Education Every week you hear a new speaker. You learn about your community, your nation, and the world. 7. Fun Club meetings are fun! Service Projects are fun! Rotary is fun! 8. Improved Speaking Skills Public speaking is the single biggest phobia in our society. Rotary provides an avenue to improve those skills. 9. World Citizenship Go to any club in the world and you are immediately accepted as an equal and treated as an important friend 30,000 clubs in 198 nations. 10. Youth Programs Rotary believes in young people. It provides high school Interact Clubs, Youth Exchange programs, Camp Royal, and Camp Venture. Rotary gives more scholarships to more people than any other group in the U.S. 11. Vocational Programs Rotary mentors people in all types of vocational skills, from Group Study Exchange programs to Career Days and Job Shadow programs. A common feature is to have a program a couple times a year featuring 2 or 3 club members speaking about their professions or businesses. 12. Code of Ethics Imagine a world where EVERYONE lived by the 4-Way Test of Rotary. 13. Cultural Awareness Rotarians come from a cross-section of every conceivable background, whether it be religious, political, ethnic, financial, social, etc. 14.
