The Rotary Clubs of Walnut Creek and Tokyo-Kohoku have had a continuous student summer exchange program since 1967. Separate from any Rotary International involvement, this program is directly between these two ambitious Rotary clubs. This multi-country fellowship was started during an International Rotary Convention in 1967 when Adrian Mendes, former Club President and District Governor, befriended members of the Tokyo-Kohoku Club.

Remembering our trip to Hawaii to commemorate 50 years of our Rotary Clubs of Kuhoko and Walnut Creek relationship, student exchange, and fellowship. This was a tree planting to honor our anniversary. PDG Adrian Mendes, President Bruce Johnson, and so many wonderful friends gathering.
